Product Overview
This is a 3- pin male plug gear shift sensor specially designed for Bafang BBS02B and BBSHD mid- drive motors (750W/ 1000W). It is an essential part in e- bike mid- drive conversion kits. When shifting gears, the sensor sends a signal to the controller to momentarily cut motor power, allowing smooth, quiet gear changes and protecting the chain, gears and motor from damage during shifting.
Installation Steps
- Turn off the e- bike power before installation.
- Locate the gear shift sensor socket on the Bafang motor controller.
- Plug the 3- pin male connector of the shift sensor into the matching socket on the controller. Make sure the plug is fully inserted and locked. Do not force it or insert reversely.
- Mount the sensor body near the derailleur or gear trigger using the included tie wraps/bracket.
- Adjust the position so that the sensor can correctly detect gear shifting movement.
- Turn on the power and test shifting:
Motor power should briefly cut off when shifting.
Gears should shift smoothly without grinding.
Notes & Warnings
- Only compatible with Bafang BBS02B / BBSHD mid motors with a 3-pin gear sensor interface.
- Do not use with other motor brands or different pin configurations, which may cause malfunction.
